Forest Hills is a neighborhood/borough in Queens, New York. It is a densely populated urban neighborhood. It is among the wealthiest neighborhoods in the U.S., with beautifully maintained homes and landscaping. Forest Hills Garden, Van Court and Cord Meyer are among the more exclusive planned communities in the borough. The West Side Tennis Club was home to the U.S. Open and the competition that gave rise to it were played there from 1913-1978. Over 75% of all adults in the neighborhood have four-year degrees or more, this is more than three times the national educational average. The neighborhood is somewhat diverse, common ancestries include Asian, Irish, German, Polish and Russian. About 46% of all residents were born outside the U.S. English remains the primary language of the neighborhoods, followed by Chinese, Hebrew, Spanish and Russian. The neighborhood has a vacanc rate of 19%, meaning that there are plenty of homes to choose from. Almost 12% of housing in the neighborhood is only seasonally occupied by tourist. This means that in the off season things get a little quieter. A number of apartments are also occupied by students and are vacant when classes are not in session.

The neighborhood spans approximately 2.6 square miles of predominantly land area. It is a definitively white-collar community, where 97% of the workforce hold white-collar positions. In 2010, the population was 83,728 and the population density was $34,886 people per square mile. In 2015, the median household income was $81,598 and the median gross rent was $1,588. In the same year, the average estimated value of detached homes was $862,482. The current median real estate price was $1,054,215 and the current average rental price $2,419. Public transportation is available, in the form of buses, subways and commuter trains. Around 61% of the workforce use commuter trains for their daily commutes.

Public education is provided by the schools of the New York City Department of Education. Forest Hills is a large borough. As such, it has several school districts and schools. Local schools include, School in the Garden, Lynn Gross Discovery School, J.H.S. 190 Russell Sage, Metropolitan  Expeditionary  Learning School and others. High school students attend schools outside the borough. Private schools include, Our Lady of Mercy, Our Lady Queen of Martyrs and the Kew Forest School. The community has two libraries, two major parks and several minor parks and several structures that appear on the National Register of History Places. Real estate options include single family homes, apartment complexes and high-rise apartments. Homes for sale are predominantly single family structures from medium to large size with 3-5 bedrooms or more.
